Shaneen markets
Briggs is taking the revolutionary Shaneen shape and building it in other, existing markets. Main
programme Shaneens will be built in various sizes, starting with the
market penetrating Aceson-funded DC Shaneen4 and DJC Shaneen5 series,
in the 125-200 seat sector. Briggs aim is the eventual goal of replacement of all current
generation airliners. This means Shaneens for an extensive array of markets,
both short and medium-range, in all size capacities, with considerations in
range, performance (as in STOL Shaneen) and capacity. Shaneen's unique design will be scaled up and down from the forthcoming Aceson DC and DJC versions. This will give more airline customer’s access to Shaneens superior design features, over different market requirements. At this stage, following the launch of the Shaneen4 and Shaneen5, aging and obsolete types in order of greatest need will dictate the order of manufacture. Three larger
versions of the Shaneen 4 and Shaneen5 series are expected, as well as two
smaller versions. It is likely co-produced types, similar to the current
Aceson program DC and DJC Shaneens, will be launched; after more extensive market study,
coupled with a program to raise the capital. The only exclusion will be long-range airliner markets, which will be completely replaced by Neecenow. The manufacture of various sizes of Neecenow will make subsonic markets in the medium-range to long-range obsolete after the commercial introduction of these types. With this consideration in mind, any larger
Shaneens will be built with high capacity domestic markets as the primary focus,
with considerations also to the Briggs Breecuda. A high performance turbo-prop
design is also under study, using a modified version the Shaneens design. The advent of the Shaneen came from the time taken to develop Neecenow. Not every flight is practical for hypersonic travel, and studies to find an improved, more efficient type over present airliners were driven by findings from Briggs' SF Tronolog programme. By providing
a choice gives market preference, making Briggs products highly
desirable to airline customers, driving up eventual market share. |
