The SF series Tronolog

The SF-series Tronolog will introduce a high capacity air-cargo aircraft which is designed to carry shipping containers.

Air cargo carriers have endured converted military or passenger aircraft for over 90 years of commercial freight transport. Within 7 years the air freight industry will double its movements, meaning greenhouse emissions and fuel use will also double.

Tronolog is the first aircraft in history specifically designed for the air-freight industry growing at 10% per year; twice as fast as the air-passenger industry. If the present world still only had sailing ships, thousands of these vessels would be required to fulfil the same role of just one of today’s container ships. Sailing ships are better environmentally, but small loads coupled with traits of unreliability, vulnerability and much slower comparative speed render them useless for today’s needs.

The air-cargo industry does not have its own product: it uses converted airliners completely inappropriate to handle cargo – a trillion dollar industry retarded by a lack of suitable product: Tronolog will change this.

Hydrogen powered Tronologs will zero carbon emissions, this variant, the Q-400H, will be able to lift eighty 5 tonne 20 ft or forty 10 tonne 40 ft shipping containers - the same as Bio-fuel and jet-fuel versions of the type - anywhere in the world in one day at low cost.
